Making Space: Women Artists and Postwar Abstraction | MoMA
This current exhibit shines light on women artists between the end of World War II (1945) and the start of the feminist movement (1968) at which time the center of the art world shifted from Paris to New York. Andrea Bowers- lifelong activist A Menace to Liberty 2012 Marker on found cardboard. Included are works that range from the boldly gestural canvases of Lee Krasner, Helen Frankenthaler, and Joan Mitchell; the radical geometries by Lygia Clark, Lygia Pape, and Gego; and

Saturday Sketches
Why are opposites always such a big attraction? I happen to enjoy painting really large or fairly small. For the moment, I'm captivated by the eight inch square canvases and this is a sampling! I got involved in the size as a portable solution to my needs for working in NYC and toting them back to eastern Long Island...so packable.
