In using mixed media, my Art Journals expand on generating ideas, concepts and creativity. For me, art is about exploring and processing life's events and meaning through the use of

visual language.

While these journals may not technically fall within the confines of what the observer may consider a traditional sketchbook, they have become an important and integral part of my

working process.

All media usage is explored within the pages of these books and includes any and

all dry and wet mediums such as;

pencil, personal photographs, stamps, monotypes, acrylic, gouache, crayons, cloth, etc.

 

This is where I go; to be myself, to find myself, to explore, be free from rules. For I continue to learn that many rules are ultimately self imposed anyway.
